Retreat FAQs
What if I have dietary restrictions, such as vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free?
We will be dining (lunch/dinner) where there are many food options – vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, gluten free, and options for meat lovers. If you have special food requirements, it’s always good to bring snack options that you know you can eat along the way.
Is the water safe to drink?
Absolutely! Bring your reusable water bottle because Iceland’s water is one of the cleanest, most delicious drinking water in the world. Tap water is not treated with chemicals because it’s not necessary. You do not need to buy bottled water because it’s the same as the water running from the tap. And don’t worry, we will get to drink stream water too.
If we have to walk on ice or snow, is there a safe way to do that?
Once the group is compiled, Everybody Bend Yoga will send a detailed packing list with footwear suggestions; however, Tyffi will provide comfortable spikes to wear under your shoes when needed.
What airline will we fly?
Do NOT purchase a ticket until you get the green light from Everybody Bend Yoga. If you are flying out of Iowa, however, you’ll likely fly out of Chicago or Minneapolis (whichever one has the best rate and flight plan) and will fly on Iceland Air. More detailed information will be provided around August 2024, after the first payment has been collected and 2025 flight prices are posted. Everybody Bend Yoga has to purchase a ticket too, so will be monitoring prices, etc. Typically, the flight is an overnight direct flight, arriving quite early in the morning to Keflavik (KEF), which allows for a full day in Reykjavik.
How cold is Iceland in March?
While it’s winter in Iceland in March – it’s still an incredible time to visit. March is often one of the snowiest months, which makes for gorgeous backdrops. You’ll experience a nice balance of day and night with the days steadily lengthening, but with enough darkness to hunt for the Northern Lights (while soaking in an outdoor hot tub with a beverage of choice). The average temperature ranges from 28-38 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t you worry – you’ll get a lot of tips on how to layer to stay warm, and we’ll be doing so much trekking and adventure-seeking, that the temperature won’t even matter.
